Nursery Practitioner Vacancy

(February 2024)

We are currently advertising for a Qualified Nursery Practitioner. Please call or email if you’d like to apply to join our team. We will email you our Job Description and Person Specification, plus as application form.

The successful applicant will be working as part of our creative and enthusiastic staff team, initially across all of our rooms, on a shift basis between 8:00am – 5:00pm, with varying shift patterns. Our nursery is open ‘full year’. Working hours can be discussed at interview, we can discuss shifts that total between 10 and 25 hours per week depending on employee and employer needs, with the potential to cover further hours for sickness and holiday cover.

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold a full and relevant Level 3 or above, Early Years qualification (Essential)
  • Be highly motivated, creative and passionate about Early Years play and learning.
  • Be approachable, friendly and able to communicate effectively at all times.
  • Liaise with parents, helping to support their whole family.
  • Hold a knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety.
  • Hold a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate (Desirable)
  • Be willing to immerse themselves in the creative and imaginative world of caring for children from 3 months to 4 years old; convincingly sip endless cups of tea with enthusiasm, embrace outdoor play whatever the weather, making mud pies and searching for ants, spiders and woodlice in the garden areas, read a book upside down with exciting voices whilst comforting children in front of you, behind you and on top of you!

Our nursery has 3 play spaces for different ages, our Baby Room, Toddler Room, and a joint Early 3’s and Pre School. Initially the successful applicant will work across the different rooms.
Applicants for posts within the setting are clearly informed that the positions are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

We are currently supporting some of our staff team to achieve their level 3 qualifications, therefore at the moment we are not in a position to offer further training and require a qualified practitioner for this role. Please note that health and social care qualifications are not full and relevant to work in an early years setting.

If you feel that you are the right person to fulfill this role, then please get in touch.

CVs can be submitted to show interest, application forms will need to be completed and returned to be considered for shortlisting and to be invited to interview. Please contact us for an application form. We look forward to hearing from you.
